Helping Little Girls Rock

We are really excited to be part of the upcoming Omaha Girls Rock Benefit! Omaha Girls Rock is the area’s first rock camp for girls ages 8-18 and will take place this July. If you know a young lady who might be interested in participating in the camp, please send her to!

The Good Life, Honeybee & Hers, Fortnight (A Benefit for Omaha Girls Rock)

The Slowdown

All ages

Show begins at 8 p.m., doors open at 7 p.m. There is a chance this show will sell out so we are encouraging our pals to buy their tickets online now! We are also excited that those of us who are teachers will have a day of meetings on May 2 so we can stay up a bit later and have a little more fun 🙂

In other Fortnight news, we are super duper excited to welcome Kyle Petersen to the band on bass. Kyle has played bass and guitar in several local bands including Eustace, Beep Beep, and Broken Spindles. He is a perfect fit for us, and we have spent lots of time hanging out, as he recorded, produced and mixed our Botany Camp EP last year! We wish Matty-boy Carlson the best as he moves on to more thoroughly conquer the art world in Omaha.

See you soon! Love, Fortnight

HearNebraska … We’re Listening!

There’s a new site in town and we are so excited about it! is a nonprofit cultural organization that cultivates the state’s vibrant, fertile music and arts community. By providing resources and a voice for bands, artists and members of Nebraska’s creative class — as well as the businesses that support them — Hear Nebraska strives to make the state a globally recognized cultural destination.

We met the brainchild of HearNebraska, Andrew Norman, and his wife, Angie, the creative director, when they helped shoot our Lovedrunk video. They are cool + fun + talented. The content of the site is great and we can’t wait to see more!

We were also excited to see their review of our EP:

Millions of Centipedes

Ladies and gents! Check out the sweet review from Chuck at Centipede Farm for our recently released EP, Botany Camp. Thanks so much for the kind words, Chuck.

Here is a bit of what he said:

“Fortnight are not the kind of band that transports your out of yourself; rather, they’re the kind of band that grounds you to that self, reminding you who and what you are. They’re one of those bands you relate to. They seem to operate from the school of thought that a few well-chosen open guitar chords, a simple keyboard line, and a few lyrics written from the heart can say everything that needs saying.”

We just got this new little synthesizer. Can’t wait to get it out and write some new tunes.

I mean, how much cooler can you get?
